The overall objective of this series is to support parents to nurture their child’s thriving by deepening understanding of neurodivergence, learning how and when to share this with their child, and building skills that foster self-awareness, confidence, and advocacy.

What you’ll learn

Module 1 - Holding Space and Understanding Neurodivergence

By the end of this module, parents will be able to:

  1. Reflect on their child’s unique journey and understand that every path is different.

  2. Recognise their child’s strengths and challenges and how these shape daily life.

  3. Understand key aspects of neurodivergent profiles.

  4. Explore and validate their own feelings as part of supporting their child.

Module 2 - Sharing and Awareness

By the end of this module, parents will be able to:

  1. Understand the role of awareness and why “telling” their child about neurodivergence matters.

  2. Explore ways to validate feelings of uncertainty, worry, and doubt around sharing information.

  3. Learn strengths-focused approaches to talking with their child about neurodivergence.

  4. Use practical strategies to share information in an age-appropriate, empowering way.

Module 3 - Building Self Awareness, Self Confidence and Self Advocacy

By the end of this module, parents will be able to:

  1. Understand why self-awareness, self-confidence, and self-advocacy matter, and how small everyday steps make a difference

  2. Support their child’s self-awareness using practical strategies to notice and understand strengths, challenges, and needs

  3. Encourage their child’s self-confidence through affirming identity and celebrating progress

  4. Foster their child’s self-advocacy skills, guiding them to express preferences
